WHAT DOES HOLISTIC MEAN?  

 

Holistic means I look at your hormones, your sleep, your stress load, your movement, your nervous system, your relationship with food, and yes, the emotional weight that tends to live underneath all of it. If you were a house, we would start with the foundation and work our way up, because patching the walls doesn't help if the structure underneath is compromised.

  • I work with each client individually, drawing on expertise in perimenopause and menopause support, hormonal health, blood sugar balance, circadian rhythm and sleep optimization, stress and cortisol management. I listen, truly listen, without judgment, without rushing you out the door, and without dismissing what you already know about your own body.

  • One of the most important things we will build together is your ability to self-advocate. You will leave our work together knowing how to ask better questions, read between the lines of your own lab results, trust your instincts, and speak up for yourself in any healthcare setting. Your gut has wisdom. My job is to help you learn to trust it and act on it.

  • This is not a 7-day fix. I offer steady, lasting change built on small daily steps and the deep knowledge that you already have the answers inside of you. My job is to help you find them.

Hello! My name is Mequasah (Mec-wa-sa) Simpson, and I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach, Yoga Teacher, and Fitness Trainer based in the West Linn/Lake Oswego, Oregon area.

 

While I have a deep specialty in supporting women navigating perimenopause and the hormonal shifts of their 40s and beyond, I work with women at every stage of life, including teenage girls finding their footing in their own bodies. Whether you come to me for 1:1 coaching or one of my workshops focused on sport-specific wellness or women's health, the foundation is always the same: I look at the entire you.

There are times in everyone's life when we find ourselves in a rut. Sometimes we've been there so long we can't remember what it felt like to be out of it, let alone where to begin. If you are looking for a health coach, know this: reaching out is the hardest step, and you've already taken it.

 

The rut can look like a lot of things. Chronic stress that never fully lifts. A body that stopped responding the way it used to. Relationships, careers, or life chapters that have shifted and left you feeling unmoored. The physical responses to these experiences are real, including weight changes, inflammation, disrupted sleep, skin issues, anxiety, depression, and so much more. Your body is not failing you. It is communicating with you.

 

I believe you already have the answers inside of you. My job is to help you hear them. I listen without judgment, ask the right questions, and work with you to build the confidence to trust what your body and your gut have been trying to tell you all along, including in rooms where you haven't always felt heard.

Why a dedicated program rather than a quick fix?

 

Your health did not unravel overnight, and lasting change takes time, though that does not mean you won't feel differences quickly, sometimes within the first week. What a structured program gives us is the space to work through obstacles as they arise, both physical and emotional, and to build new habits at a pace that actually sticks.

Many of us have spent years, sometimes decades, pouring ourselves into our families, our careers, and our communities, and somewhere along the way forgot how to pour back into ourselves. We have built patterns since childhood that don't shift in a matter of weeks. This work honors that truth.

This is not a one-size-fits-all program. You are bio-individual and will be treated as such. I hold advanced training in Yoga Medicine through Tiffany Cruikshank with a focus on myofascial release, advanced training in HRT and hormonal health, and I bring that alongside my certifications in holistic health coaching, personal training, and yoga into every aspect of our work together. The physical is only one piece of the picture.

For those navigating perimenopause specifically, I am also putting the finishing touches on my guidebook, Navigating Perimenopause with Your Sanity Intact...ish, which will be available soon for clients and the wider community.
